I lived in a small space for a few years. I rented a bedroom at a friend’s house. It was a really full room! Had to be organized to keep all my stuff in there.
Apartment living was pretty difficult. We decluttered and made the most of the space we had.
I feel like this everyday!
My home office is tiny and shares space with my son’s toys. Organization is key so I don’t find an action figure in my pen holder!
We lived in a teeny house with 3 children and hardly any closet space!
Yes I have in Germany and I actually loved it! My flat was full of Ikea stuff:)
Yes! We lived in a hotel for 4 months…definitely had to stay organized!
Oh my…I live in one now. I live in a mobile home on a family farm in which I have spent an ENORMOUS amount of time trying to make look “cute” at least as cute as a mobile home could be. The lack of closets in the shoe box drives me mad! Organization is KEY is our small space!
I am about to move to a small space for a few months. Not looking forward to living in an apartment again…and moving from great neighbors.
I feel like I live in a small space right now.
My husband and I are actually just about to move to a 1000sq ft apartment, to a place that is about half that size, which should be interesting. But, we made it work in the place we live in now, and we’ll make it work at our new place too. Hopefully with some help from the Container Store!!
We live in a 2br 1ba apt with our 3rd baby coming in a month! 5 of us will be pushing it!
Though we are in a larger house than apartments we used to live in, my office space is the smallest ever. It’s the third bedroom in a single-wide mobile home and therefore teeny! Right now it’s the “storage room” though you notice I used that term loosly. I wnat to use it for my craft room but it’s a disaster because there’s just not enough room in the house for everything.

I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment with my boyfriend and 2 cats and a dog. To say I have a lot of stuff would be an understatement so staying organized is essential!
I live in a small space now with my husband and daughter. It’s a two bedroom apt, so we have our bedroom and the second bedroom is the office/guest room/baby’s room/craft room/storage. It is crazy!
The first house my husband and I lived in together was around 700 square feet. It was very old military housing. The walls were anything but straight and the bathroom was only big enough for one person to turn around in (if they sucked in their tummy).
I live in a small space, with my husband, two kids, and a dog. There are some challenges but it has some benefits as well, we really think about what we bring into your home.
We lived in a cramped little apartment while we were looking for a house. Most of our wedding presents stayed in boxes because we had no room to use them! We made it work by trying to stay clean and organized amid the mess. and lots of kisses with every bump in the hallway!
When my husband and I got our 1st apartment after college, we had a dog and lived in only 500 sq ft, organization was key.
We live in an apartment right now. That’s why organizing is a must!
The best small space I ever lived in was a backyard cabana. It had an open living/cooking/dining space with a separate bedroom and bathroom. It felt huge because one whole wall was windows and the opposite wall was cabinetry. My husband, young daughter and I lived there while he finished college. It was across the street from the ocean. It felt like being on vacation. LOVED it.
I lived in a tiny one bedroom apartment shortly before I met my husband. I didn’t have much stuff but everything in there was all mine. It had a lot of windows and a cute little balcony. I loved that apartment!
Have I ever lived in a small space? Meet my apartment in grad school (I was a graduate assistant in the Housing department, so I lived on campus among undergraduate students). My roommate, a fellow graduate assistant, and I shared a 4-bedroom apartment. You hear that and you think, “4 bedroom, what’s the problem?” The bedrooms were so narrow that you could stand in the middle of the room and touch two walls; the room was long enough for a twin bed plus about 2.5 feet at the end. So, one of my bedrooms acted as my office/guest bedroom (oh yeah, we couldn’t remove any of the furniture, so there was really no room to spread out). The living area was still quite small, but not terrible. But, in the kitchen, we couldn’t fit our silverware in the drawers the “normal” way because the drawers were so shallow, so we had to turn them.
Yes I have lived in a small space. I have two little girls that have too many toys, clothes, accessories and then I on the other hand am a scrapbooker and have no room to put anything. I absolutely love containers to separate my daughters little toys
what a great giveaway!
i think my college dorm was the smallest space i ever lived in.
thanks for the giveaway!
Oh yes! Growing up I shared a 1300 sq ft home with my immediate family of six. College dorm was tiny too! Current home is small for our family of five…. I’m learning to identify clutter and move it out. Love the blog!
We lived in the tiniest {TINIEST} apartment (room) when we lived in Bangkok. The translated name of the apartment building was the “Orange Mansion”. We waited everyday for the water to warm up for afternoon showers in the sun, flushed our toilet with a bucket of water and spent nights hitting the cat off of us as he chased goodness knows what around the room all night long.

I currently live in a small space. The key, of course, is to stay organized. It is so easy for everything to unravel into complete chaos. one of my secrets is to keep “junk boxes” that are really decorative baskets so that all of my misc. belongings aren’t scattered about.
I am following apartment guide on twitter (donna_cairns)
My first apartment after college was in a brownstone that I shared with 2 other people. SInce I was the third to join the group I got the smallest bedroom – it fit a bed and I had to build a closet…that was it. My desk was my nightstand. The kitchen in the place wasn’t much bigger so you can imagine how small an apartment it was.
I feel like I live in a small space! I would love help organizing it!!
Please pick me!!!
Yes I have lived in a small single wide trailer before, verrryyyy small!!
The smallest house my husband, two daughters, and I have lived in was 1100 square feet. Cozy, but we did have some great storage space that made it livable.
Love to get organized at container store.
Yes and learned that efficient use of space and the correct furniture makes all te difference in the world!!
ALWAYS!
