I will admit that since I got pregnant, my meal planning (among MANY other of my organization habits) has pretty much flown out the window. During my first trimester I could barely look at a piece of chicken. This has led to lots and lots of restaurants and fast food. If I could finally find something that didn’t send me to the restroom then I went and got it right away! As I’m trying to ease back into my regular routines we are still eating out a little bit too much.
My sister, the Super Healthy Mom, recently wrote a post about going out to eat at Olive Garden. She had the soup salad and breadsticks and it totaled 1500 calories!!! Even when you are out and you THINK you are making healthy choices, you may not be. That’s practically your entire calories for the day! No wonder restaurant food tastes so darn good! So my goal for this week is to get back into my meal planning so my family doesn’t end up overweight… I already feel huge and I’m only 22 wks pregnant!
So really the two main benefits to staying in and cooking your meals are first they are much better for you, AND you will be saving a ton of money! Now that I’m feeling better I’m definitely recommitting myself to planning our breakfast, lunches and dinners! Can YOU recommit yourself to the same?
