Way back when, when I was a wee lass, I purchased my very first paper planner. It was a Franklin. I cherished this planner. I decorated it with Lucky Charms stickers, I put my friends/boyfriends names in it, I kept a record of my homework and my schedule… did I mention I was 12? That’s the first item I purchased to get myself organized. I had a bug, and it needed a system! I then used a Franklin paper planner for the next 7 years until I purchased my first electronic planner… a Palm V. Even with the Palm though, I still used Franklin’s system for tasks and goals (luckily they had software that synced that information with my Palm.) Well, through the years, every time I get their catalog in the mail, I start to covet different organizing products.
Last week Franklin contacted me to ask if I would do a giveaway of one of their totes, and announce their huge sale starting TODAY! Check out their biggest sale of the year here! You can save up to 70%! If you already have the organizing bug, then you’ll definitely love the sale, but if you are lost and don’t even know where to start, Franklin is a GREAT place to start looking for a system that is going to work for you. The tote is really cute (pictured above) it’s the Abbie Messenger Bag
it has a plush, quilted exterior, embroidered floral accents, and faux leather trim, the Abbie Messenger Bag has style to match its intelligence. Its smart features include exterior end pockets, a padded compartment for 15.4″ laptops, pen loops, zippered cosmetics compartment, coordinating wristlet, adjustable shoulder strap, and interior pockets for phone and iPod®. It is valued at $89.95!! And you can win it FREE right here at the Organized Mom!

Ha! My first love (I mean organizing tool) was a Franklin. It was red faux leather and had a cute little compass zipper keeper. I too obsessed from a tender age and new lists were the key to life…lists and plastic tubs.
I follow you @michelle_cc and will retweet!
CUTE bag!!! pick me pick me
my first organization/reminder product was a rubber band around my wrist…helping me remembe something VERY important. however I could only use it for one thing at a time…
I’ve advanced into the day planner now that I’m all grown up.
That is the most adorable bag I have seen in a LONG time!
My first organization product was a hand me down electronic organizer about 10 years ago (middle school). I put everything in it.. homework, contact information, reminders for chores. I’ve often wished I had the money to spend on another such item to get myself back into shape (organization wise that is!).
My fav organization product was my first franklin planner. I bought it with a hardcover book that’s no longer in print which shows in detail how to plan your life goals and break them down into daily/weekly tasks. Now I use it all the time and constantly tweak my goals with this system!

one of my first attempts to be organized was with a free calendar booklet that the Hallmark store gave away with purchase. I loved writing everything in it and re-decorating the cover–then graduated to the micro Franklin planner (loved the tiny-ness of it!)–now just use my phone’s calendar to remember things
My first organizer that I remember purchasing was a Trapper Keeper in 4th grade. I kept notes in it about our Pegasus club, or something like that
And diagrams for our future clubhouses.
I love Franklin products. They are great for organizing AND have a way of living and thinking behind them! My favorite organizing product is probably my label maker!
My first franklin was the little spiral bound planner they give incoming freshman. It was a weekly, and had each day in a little box. I basically ate, drank, and slept with that thing and was the MOST organized college freshman you ever met. The next year, I went to the franklin store and had them set me up with a full system, and have been addicted ever since.
My first organizing product purchase was a Caboodle! I loved toting that around with all my beauty products.
Pick me! I’ll even let you borrow it sometime.

My most valuable organization product isn’t actually a product. It’s the weekly planning meetings I have with my husband every Sunday night. We discuss upcoming events, go over schedules, etc. I definitely notice a big difference when skip those meetings.
My day planner is by far my favorite organizational tool. I could not live without it!

My first organizational tool was my coupon organizer! I still have my original one that I bought when I first started buying my own groceries after college.
The first thing I bought as a Mom to keep me organized was a diaper bag, everyone has one but I had to find one I thought was cool so I looked for a long time to find it.

That bag is so cute!!!!
How do you enter the contest? I couldn’t get the link to work and copying and pasting brought me back to the blog page??
I’m technology challenged!
My trapper keeper was my first organization product. I’ve gone from Franklins to Palms to iPods. I love them all!

I love my blackberry. I use it keep me organized.
I stepped into Franklin Covey store while vacationing in Canada and felt like I was in a candy shop for organising goodies. I bought a zipped planner and still use it today.
[...] to get organized?? Hop over to my sisters blog . She’s giving away a FRANKLIN COVEY organizing system. Awesome! A $90 [...]
I have to “forget-me-not” systems. One is to
switch my wedding bands from my left finger to my
right.
The other is a good ol’ notebook that I keep a
daily list of “to-dos” as well as places I need
to go. Works well, but I could use a better
system.
PICK ME, Please
I have never moved on from a Franklin paper planner… it is my brain, my life, my sanity! I love this messenger bag and I love Franklin Covey! I’m glad I found your site.

I used Franklin Covey college editions all the time in college. Now, I just write lists on whatever paper I can find, but I still love to cross things off to feel productive! Thanks for the giveaway!
I love Franklin Planners and have used them for many years. Nothing beats a paper copy for keeping this old gal organized.
My 1st system was my academic calendar I got freshman year in college. I could put in my schedule, assignments, contact info, and any other notes I needed. I loved it so much, and it kept me so on track, I still buy new organizers in Sept, even though I am haven’t been in school for 12 years.
I don’t have a favorite organizing product because I desperately need to get organized!! Pick me!
Oh my goodness that tote is super cute. I would LOVE it. Thanks for the chance!
Love their stuff! Great giveaway.

I really want this, not because I already have a great organization tool, but because I need to be organized! I did purchase a filing system for receipts and coupons. But that doesn’t organize the rest of my life…!
I need to be more organized, but just can’t get there…maybe I need Franklin Covey to help me!
I’ve always loved those giant desktop calendars so you can scribble stuff when you think of it and it’s not like a post-it note that gets lost. Too bad I can’t see the top of my desk right now… I must really need that planner!
My first organizing purchase was a Franklin planner a long time ago. I’ve gotten out of the habit of using one, but I think I’ll link over to their sale and look for one. (I love buying office supplies. It’s an addiction!)
Sarah, pick me. With six and a half kids I could really use something to help me be more organized. The first thing I ever bought to help be organized was a paper planner, but I have to admit I really preferred my Palm. Way more efficient.
always looking to be more organized. My first piece was a wire rack shelving system from Ikea…still using it!
My favorite organizing items are my notebook and my planner. I used to buy a notebook that had calender pages right in it, but I haven’t been able to find it lately…so sad….
I love my iPhone! It keeps me organized and sane.
That would be the spiralbound notebook. I still rely on them for most everything–write down inspiration, to do lists, phone numbers. It works for me, somehow, probably because my life still isn’t all that complicated. I’ve only got two little ones and don’t have an outside job.
I just want to win!! I love anything and everything organizational!!!!!!!!!!
I should buy one, I’ve been using half used old notebooks from college. I can’t stand it, I’m used to having something nice.
I’ve always loved day planners. My first one was a Lisa Frank one when I was about 12 or so.
Love your blog! Love your daily planner!
I tweeted too!
@CombsKitchen
YOU have no idea how much help I need in the organization department! I would love this!
I need to get organized! What a cool tool!

I would love that for my daughter who just graduated from vet school. The gift of organization – what could be better.
Oh I need this in the worst way! My current one is a scratched up mess! With 3 kids under 7 (7, 4, 2, and one on the way) Planning is something I utilize a lot! Really something my daily life could not live with out!
My first planner was a Franklin Covey!! I used it to plan my wedding year and it did a great job!!!!
Cute bag! I didn’t even know they sold CUTE bags!
Oh…and I’ll also retweet this…I’m PeanutSprout on Twitter. Thanks!
It sounds lame but I love just having a magnetic pad on the side of my fridge. It truly helps keep me and my hubby together. Obviously I need more though so I am hoping I win that bag and am headed to the sale to look around. lol.
My husband has tried in vain to convert me to electronic organiztion devices (he loves his iphone). However, I cannot get used to them, I have to write it down in my planner.
