I live in Utah. It is very dry here. I don’t think I’ve seen a patch of moss in YEARS. I am from Oregon though, and moss was EVERYWHERE. You couldn’t walk down the green sidewalk without seeing moss in between the cracks, on the trees, and all over!! They don’t call Oregon green for nothing! If moss is taking over your garden and sidewalks, you definitely need to check out The MOSS OUT!® line of herbicides. It controls moss on lawns, roofs, walkways, decks and structures with easy-to-use liquid and granular formulations designed to treat the problem without causing damage to plants and surfaces. Where I saw moss the most while living in Oregon was definitely on building structures and surfaces. While my garden should be green, my house and my driveway definitely shouldn’t! MOSS OUT!® for Roofs & Walks is non-staining, non-corrosive formula that kills moss growth within hours on roofs, walkways, decks, patios, brick and unpainted cement.

How to use MossOUT!®

Step 1: Prepare the Lawn – Apply anytime the lawn is moist and moss is actively growing. Treatment in fall or early spring is most effective. Mow the lawn to expose moss and remove grass clippings.

Step 2: Treat the Moss – For spot treatment, sprinkle granules over mossy areas in lawn. Refer to package for application rates. The container will treat up to 1,250 square feet of lawn. Immediately after sprinkling granules, water treated areas thoroughly. A gentle rain, even immediately after spot treatment, will not significantly affect the moss-killing ability of this product. Wait several days until moss turns black and dies, then gentle rake it out.

Step 3: Reduce Soil Acidity – Since grass may be slow to fill in bare spots, reseeding of treated areas is recommended. To reduce acidity, which may contribute to moss growth, apply a lime mineral supplement. Apply lime anytime-before, during or after moss control treatment.

Spot Treat Moss Around Ornamentals, Shrubs & In Flower Beds

1. Apply anytime moss is actively growing and the soil is moist.
2. Sprinkle granules over moss areas. Refer to package for application rates.
3. Immediately after sprinkling granules, water treated areas thoroughly.
4. Wait several days and carefully rake out dead moss.

Tips
· Avoid applying product directly to flowers or ornamental shrubs as these plants may become “burned— or dried out to a point where plants are unable to recover. If contact occurs, use a hose to wash this product off treated plants immediately.

One of the best parts of spring is spring cleaning. Sure that might feel a little demented but it’s true. There is nothing quite as satisfying as getting your house cleaned all the way up and all of the way out. Looking around at a fresh and new feeling home is incredibly satisfying.
So here’s how you get started:
1.… Read the rest
Author information

Sarah Kimmel

Sarah Kimmel, the Organized Mom

One of the best parts of spring is spring cleaning. Sure that might feel a little demented but it’s true. There is nothing quite as satisfying as getting your house cleaned all the way up and all of the way out. Looking around at a fresh and new feeling home is incredibly satisfying.

So here’s how you get started:

1. Go Room By Room

First, go through every single room in your house. Look at every shelf. Look in every drawer. Look in every cabinet. Look under and behind every single piece of furniture. Gather up every single item that does not belong in that room and put it in a basket. Then take the contents of that basket and put every item in the room in which it actually belongs.

Don’t clean yet. You’re just organizing.

2. Surface Clean and Organize

Once everything is in the right room, go back to where you started. Do a basic cleaning of the surfaces and put every object in its correct space.

3. Pare Down

Go back through every single room again. This time the goal is to clean out instead of clean up. Be as ruthless as possible. For every item you own ask yourself these questions:

1. Does this have tremendous sentimental value?

2. Have I used it within the last twelve months?

3. Will I actually use it within the next twelve months?

Be honest. If the answer to those questions is no, put it aside to either be donated, tossed out or sold in a yard sale (or online).

4. Debug

Get rid of pests. Just because you haven’t seen any bugs or critters within the last few months doesn’t mean they won’t start popping up again now that the weather is changing. Call your local Terminix rep and have them come out and do an inspection and help you take preliminary measures against invasive pests.

5. Clean

Now is when you really clean. And when we say clean we don’t mean simply wiping off a counter and running the vacuum.

1. Start by emptying the room and washing the walls and ceiling. Launder any drapes. Wash the windows. Wash out closets and wash down closet shelves. Deep clean the carpet with a professional grade carpet cleaner (or polish any hardwoods).

2. As you move each piece of furniture back into the room, give it a thorough scrubbing and polishing as well.

3. Wipe down every wipe-downable surface as you put your possessions back in place. Use a dry paper towel to wipe dust from books. Use a cleaning cloth and some gentle cleanser to wipe off knick knacks and tchotchkes.

4. Put (freshly washed of course) linens back in place.

Viola! Clean!

Don’t forget to clean the outside of your home and to do a thorough going over of your yard. Hire a professional to power wash your siding and landscapers to get the yard in shape if you aren’t equipped to do these things.

And you’re done! Your home should feel brand new again. Enjoy that feeling!

My daughter is in a constant state of motion. This is not a new thing for her. It actually started from the minute she was conceived. While I was pregnant I never had to do kick counts, as she was ALWAYS moving in my tummy. After she was born, things were no different. She has never slept well (probably still doesn’t really sleep through the night, but she’s old enough not to come in and wake me up now, so that’s a plus.) She has always been up before the crack of dawn too. We had to tell her that she couldn’t get out of her room for the day until SIX A.M.! Yes, 6:00 a.m.

Now that you have the background, I’ll share that we took her to a counselor recently. We didn’t do this because of anything really in particular, we just felt that she was crying a little too much for her age, about not getting her way, and things like that. We just wanted to try and give her some tools to better control how she was feeling.

As we were talking to the counselor, she asked us what we were doing to help with Maddie’s ADHD. Not that I hadn’t suspected prior that she could have ADHD, but the counselor didn’t even ASK if she had it, it was stated as a fact. Having a name and an explanation for the way my daughter behaved made all the difference in the world. It was like the day I found out she needed glasses. Suddenly so many of the things she did made sense, like when she was about 14 months old, and I took her to a play date with several other kids. All them were fine sitting and listening to the songs and clapping along, but my daughter was off and running. I called my sister crying, thinking what a horrible mother I was since I couldn’t get my kid to do the things all the other kids were doing.

The other thing the counselor asked was what kind of exercise Maddie was getting, and what was she eating for breakfast. She informed us that carbs can really get an ADHD mind racing, and aggravate her symptoms.

What was she eating in the mornings? Her favorite breakfast was a bagel, or cereal, or waffles, or carbs upon carbs upon carbs. It was easy for me to whip up a bowl of cereal or make her a bagel. I would wake up at about 7 a.m., get her breakfast and ready for school, and leave at about 7:40 a.m. to take her to school. Since I work at 8:00 AM (from home), I wouldn’t end up taking a shower until my lunch break.

I made a decision that we needed to change up the morning routine to get her mind ready for the school day, and not overly excited, so she could pay attention more in school. At this time I also decided that both Maddie and I needed to get more exercise. So, I set my alarm for 5:15, and was ready to change up our morning routine. Now this is what happens…

5:15 AM – Wake up, read scriptures, say prayers

5:45 AM – My regular workout (including some High Intensity Interval Training)

6:45 AM – Maddie joins me for a lower intensity workout

7:00 AM – Make breakfast for Maddie which consists of Eggs, Bacon, and Fruit

7:15 AM – Maddie does her checklist, while I take a shower

7:40 AM – Off to school

8:00 AM – I start work

Now that we’ve changed up our morning routine, both of us are ready for the day! Her teacher has informed us that her behavior in class has very much improved. She’s always been super smart, and reads well above her age level, but her behavior in class could be disruptive to the other kids. Now that we’ve changed her breakfast to something that is more healthy for her ADHD symptoms and we are getting some of that excess energy out first thing in the morning, she is able to concentrate in school much more easily. These simple changes we made have made all the difference in the world!

Going to the movies is a special treat that everyone in the family can enjoy. Weekly movie visits can be expensive, however, and when combined with the purchase of popcorn and sodas for the kids, the cost may be too prohibitive for many families.

By taking advantage of special deals offered through websites such as Fandango.com, the price for movie tickets and theater extras drops considerably. Two-for-one deals, free ticket offers and reward programs that provide significant savings at local theaters are continually available from movie-oriented websites.

Saving Money on Movie Tickets

The price of a single movie ticket continues to rise, particularly for evening showings and for special feature presentations such as 3-D movies. Using a two-for-one deal means that a family of four may enjoy a new film at half the cost they would pay for a standard ticket. When these deals are applied on a regular basis, a family can expect to save several hundred dollars or more each year.

Movie time is a special occasion for Moms and children to spend quality time together. By using codes for Fandango promotions, kids can enjoy new animated films or age-appropriate movies with their parents or friends. Good quality films often leave a lasting impression with children who will remember the experience throughout their lifetime. Movie websites like Fandango help parents choose a suitable movie for their kids by providing ratings and customer feedback.

Special Offers Redeemable at Local Theaters

Recent savings incentives offered through Fandango include a gift card deal where the purchaser receives a free movie ticket when they buy a card for a friend or relative. Options include digital gift cards that can be sent directly to an email address and may be personalized with photos, graphics or music. An older child would enjoy receiving a movie gift card as a birthday or graduation present, and can be purchased as a collectible item that features favorite movie characters.

Another way to take advantage of movie ticket deals is by using the offers that combine a credit card and accumulated points. Fandango has an ongoing promotion with Visa Signature card holders that provides a method to earn points when the card is used. Points can later be redeemed at local theaters.

Reward Programs for Regular Movie-Going Customers

Families who enjoy watching movies on a regular basis will want to enroll in reward programs offered through Fandango and other movie sites. By requesting newsletters and special discounts sent to an email address, the user will receive Fandango coupons for current movie selections. These promotions often have expiration dates and may need to be redeemed within a month or less. Keeping abreast of current deals helps Moms save a significant amount of money on family entertainment.

Other available deals involve combination offers from two sources, but these bargains may take some planning and research to ensure that they are worth the investment. If a parent is in the market for other items, it may make sense to get movie tickets as part of the deal. Fandango offers two free movie tickets when a buyer purchases an item from one of their sponsors. For example, buyers needing cosmetics, jewelry or new electronic items may also be entitled to movie tickets. Deals change regularly, and some provide instant rewards while others require a larger investment and take longer to process.

Kids appreciate being able to see the latest movies, and will share their experience with their parents and friends. By maintaining an entertainment budget that utilizes coupons, special promotions and discounts, everyone in the family will enjoy going to the theater.

Spring and Summer are just around the corner. We did have a brief shiny minute of Spring weather yesterday until it turned bad again today, but I know it’s coming soon, and I can NOT wait. I’m definitely not a Winter girl. These boots were not made for snow, that’s for sure. Alas, when the heating bill starts going down, the electric bill starts climbing though. I’m a creature of comfort, and my house needs to be at an optimal temperature at all times so that I can think. I just can’t think when I’m too cold or too hot, and since I work from home, I need to be able to think in my house. Last year our AC went out on July 4th… yes, the 4th of July. It was horrible. Luckily we were able to borrow some money and get it fixed right away, but it was not pretty for several days.

Where is this going? Basically, when the temps start climbing and you need to get your house cooler, but you are on a budget, there are some things you can watch out for to reclaim some of that money that is now getting blown out of the air conditioner.

So how can you get organized for energy savings?

1. Check all of your windows, doors, vents, etc for areas where you may be sending your cool air right outside. Don’t forget to check your garage door too! I like to do this on a really windy day. It’s so much easier (and cheaper) to find those little leaks when the wind is howling outside.

2. Bring in a pro! You don’t want to end up like me and have your AC go out on the 4th of July, when no one is working! Get someone to come out when you are going to switch your system from “heat” to “cool” and have them check out and clean up your whole system.

3. Change Your Filter – This is one of those things that didn’t come with our “so you purchased your first home” manual. OK, there was no manual, but I really wished there was. We had no idea we were supposed to change our air filter every 3 months. We’d never owned a house with central heating and air before! We probably went our first year without changing it, until our AC unit started having issues, and the guy we hired to come check it out told us. We probably destroyed our unit that year (which is probably why it finally went kaput on us last year even though our home is only a few years old). Having a dirty filter makes the unit work even harder to get the air pumping through your house, which will cause your energy use to spike.

4. Do You Have Vampires? When something is plugged in, even if it isn’t “on” it can jack up your energy bill. Make sure to keep phone chargers, kitchen appliances, and other items unplugged from the wall until you need to plug it in and use it.5. Use/Purchase Energy Efficient. Most things you buy these days will be energy efficient, so It’s really not that hard to do, but it’s still a good reminder, especially if you have an older home. Make sure your light bulbs are energy efficient, and you will start to see the savings.

6. Shop around? Do you live somewhere that has a deregulated energy market? That means you are able to shop around for the best deal for your energy needs. If the thought of that is overwhelming to you check out energy deregulation simplified to figure if you have a choice in your energy provider, or maybe how you can start to push for deregulation in your area!

7. Turn if off. I don’t know how many times I’m running around behind a child turning off things and lights that they have left on, but it really can add up! Teach your kids that it’s better for your home if you turn off things as you exit a room. A good game we play is that anytime you enter a doorway you have to jump in the air, turn around, check to see if anything is on. If it is, run turn it off and then jump again and touch the doorway. As the kids get taller they like to try and touch the top of the doorway as they exit.

So, with a little bit of help you can keep your energy bill down this summer! Good luck!!

According to a recent article in the Orlando Sentinel, the market for fantastic foreclosure deals is getting tighter and tighter. Five years ago, homeowners, particularly those in foreclosure, were selling their homes for as much as 25% lower than the houses were worth. Today the discount is hovering around 3%. This is great news for people in this city who want to sell their homes!

Of course, knowing that the foreclosure market is drying up (i.e. buying a house for a steal) is one thing. Actually flipping a home for a decent profit is still a difficult undertaking. The housing market is still, after all, damaged.

It’s amazing how much depends on the staging of the house you want to sell. Those first impressions really are everything in a market that is oversaturated with sales. Here are a few things that you can do to make sure that first impression is a perfect one.

It’s best if you can move out of the house before you try to stage it and sell it. Many realtors have deals with furniture companies and will bring in furniture and decorations to make your house look like something out of a catalog (at very little cost to you, since everything they bring in goes right back out when the house is sold).

If you can’t move out, that’s okay. Here’s what you do:

Before you do anything else, get a self storage unit — there are tons of affordable options all over Orlando. Put everything you are not going to need to have access to on a daily basis into this unit. This serves two purposes: it gets rid of 90% of the clutter in your house and gets everything packed up so that it is ready to move into a new space when you find one for your family.

Note: As you pack things up for your storage unit, pare down. If an old object has no significant sentimental value, and you haven’t used or even thought about it in the last twelve months, get rid of it.

Then: deep clean your house. Wash the walls, polish the floors and baseboards, and get your carpets professionally cleaned.

Spruce the place up. Repaint the rooms in neutral colors. Repair any nicks or scratches in the floors or cabinetry. If something needs to be replaced, replace it.

Power wash the outside of your house. You’ll be amazed at how much dust and grime can settle into the paint on the outside of a house and power washing will make the exterior look shiny and new.

Landscape your yard — get rid of any weeds, put blooming flowers into the flower beds, mow the lawn. The outside of the house matters just as much as the inside of the house when it comes to staging.

Take any and all advice offered to you by your realtor. She knows what she’s talking about!

Finally — try to be out of the house whenever the house is being shown: being there while potential buyers are traipsing through is awkward for everyone.

Good luck!

Some people call it a dumping grounds, some call it a junk drawer, what ever you call it, it’s the place where everything goes as soon as you walk in the door from having been somewhere. Lucky for us, there is a door to the garage right off of our kitchen.

In the past, we’ve had a nifty little wall organizer over by the front door. Meaning we’d have to come into the kitchen and then walk all the way around the house to the front door to put up our keys, but then there wasn’t enough room in it to really store anything else, so the rest would go in the drawer next to the fridge, where it could get lost forever… I mean have you seen how long that drawer is??

To the rescue is the Martha Stewart Wall Organizers. Now my husband can store his wallet, ring, chapstick, whatever else he carries with him to work in his pocket right under where they keys go. These things can make it in there within seconds of walking in the door. If there is an important date to remember we can add it right to the magnetic white board calendar, or pin up something we got in the mail that we need to remember (like a wedding invitation, or an upcoming sale at our favorite store. I like to call this command central, since I can neatly organize anything that is coming into or going out of the house. I also have our passes to the local gym/pool, museum and fun center, because there has been way more times than I’d like to count that I’ve made it all the way to the museum only to realize I’ve left our passes at home.

What is great about these organizers though is that they offer extreme customization. Each section is about 12″ x 12″ and fit together perfectly. You could make it extremely long and thin, or just settle for one square in a tight spot. What you see here are the monthly calendar (so everyone is on the same page with important events), the bulletin board, and 2 accessory boards. (You’ll see how these work in my daughter’s room tomorrow)

Installation was probably the easiest thing my husband and I have ever had to put up. Each mounting background has a BUILT IN bubble level so you can tell if it’s straight without any extra equipment. Once you’ve got the mounting background nailed to the wall, it’s as simple as putting the board right on top of it. I literally tried to take a picture of my husband installing it, but by the time my camera finished booting, he was done!

Really with these systems the possibilities are endless, so check them out and create your own perfect little command central!

Want to win the exact set that I’ve got installed in my kitchen? Just fill out the form below! Giveaway will end Monday March 25th at 8:00 AM Mountain Standard Time. One entry per person.

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED

Organizing can be done in different forms, and by just changing a few elements in your house you can accomplish this. Not only will you be changing the entire looks of an area in your house, but you also get to improve the systems of organization surrounding it. One of the most popular rooms in the home to renovate is the kitchen, but this can prove to be quite expensive if the work has to be done by a professional. But never fear, because it’s fairly easy to cover up your expenses and you can do the job by yourself.

Here are 5 great tips to transform a kitchen without breaking the budget.

The first option is to change colors. Simply giving the walls a different color can change the landscape considerably. Fresh paint can brighten any room in the house. Selecting light colors will help open the room up and make it feel bigger than it actually is. Choosing a coordinated color palette can be a great place to begin this process. Even refreshing the cabinets as well as the walls can transform the room. When we lived in California we first just painted the walls and the cabinets and it went from this…

to this…

Of course this will involve some preparation of the cabinet doors first. Each door should be removed, cleaned of any dirt and then sanded smooth again. While you are doing this, you have to remove everything out of the cabinets. This is a perfect time for you to go through your kitchen items and start throwing away or donating things you don’t use, and then when the cabinets are all painted you can make sure you have a great organization system in place when you put them away. Once the cabinets have been sanded its important to use a primer on the material so that the paint will stick properly. Once priming is completed, then you are ready to paint! In the kitchen area, an oil based option for your paint is the best method to use. This type of finish will resist damage better and is easier to maintain over the long haul. In addition, there are a number of special products that contain mold inhibitors specially made for the kitchen area.

This can really help to spruce up this area, and help to transform the appearance of the room into something special. Another great way to update a kitchen area is to reface the cabinets. This can effectively improve the appearance by upgrading the shell without having to replace the entire unit. Many kits are now available that can reface a set of cabinets at a small fraction of the cost of a set of new ones. Cabinet refacing can also be done using pressure sensitive veneer. Most of these products are made of quality wood that can provide an instant make-over. This is the fastest way to upgrade the look and feel of any set of cabinets. You can adjust your cabinets in terms of space sizes where storage solutions would just be a breeze, like piling your herb containers, canned goods or dry ingredients. Or spruce up your cabinets for your glassware, plates and other kitchen utensils.

Veneer can be used on most applications to give it a high quality look. Exposed edges can be covered using veneer strips or edge bands very effectively. The best part is that the cost will be substantially less than a full renovation, but still adds great value to any home.

Another smart idea is to replace or reface the counter tops in the kitchen. Over time, these units tend to get worn or out of date and they can be replaced quite easily with a new style. There is also an option to reface or even repaint a laminated counter top as well. This is due to the new paints that are available on the market, specifically formulated for this kind of usage. Different styles can even mimic granite, stone or concrete for a more natural look. After we had lived in the California house for a while, we actually decided to do both (reface the cabinets AND put in new counters. Now it looks like this…

Although our kitchen is much bigger now… I still REALLY miss this kitchen. It turned out amazingly gorgeous.

Some homeowners will choose to upgrade their set of appliances (which you can see that we also did when we re-did our kitchen). Almost all of these now come in standard sizes, so a newer model will fit right in the old space. Since the more modern ones are generally more energy efficient, this can be a bonus. Getting a renovation loan through a refinance mortgage is easy to help cover the expenses since the cost will be recouped. While replacing appliances is not cheap, it is still less than replacing all of the cabinets.

The final option to consider is lighting. Replacing existing lighting with a different style can really dress up the kitchen. For example, using LED’s or under cabinet styles can bring a feeling of warmth to the room. It can help to make it bright and cheery too.

It doesn’t have to cost a fortune to renovate a kitchen. Using any of these steps can help a homeowner transform the room without breaking the bank.

It was so fitting, as my sister and I were driving down I-15, just passing the “Point of the Mountain” I looked out over the Salt Lake Valley and it was covered in smog. I snapped a picture since we were on our way to Kennecott to talk about Utah’s air quality. It’s kinda sad when the people I talk to every day for work (who live near Los Angeles) ask ME about my smog! Apparently it had been on the news down there in Southern California! When our air pollution makes the Southern California news… there is DEFINITELY a problem.

So why does the air quality in Utah deteriorate so quickly during the winter months in the Utah Valley? For those of you who don’t know we have something called inversion. We live in a valley surrounded by large mountain ranges. During the winter sometimes cooler air is in the valley while the warmer air is on top. (Hence the word Inversion, meaning an inversion of temperatures)

Fun graphic created by kennecott

When that cold air is trapped by the warmer air the pollution we put out also will get trapped (which is what all those little dots are in the graphic). Where is the pollution coming from though? The answer may surprise you.

Once upon a time Utah Valley had a steel plant. Everyone said that we needed to shut down the plant so that our air quality can improve. Well, they got their wish. The plant was shut down. Has the air quality in Utah during inversion improved even a little? Nope, in fact, I think it’s gotten worse.

So, now the big bad is our other big industry. Apparently we have a copper mine owned by Kennecott, who is owned by Rio Tinto. Really, I had no idea. The thing with blaming the air quality on something like this or Geneva Steel is that it’s definitely an “easy target”, but what people may not realize is how regulated they are by the government. They are required to keep their emissions under a certain level. If you want to find out more about how they comply and go above and beyond what the government mandates, check out their website. Who is NOT required by the federal government to keep pollution at a minimum? Everyone else.

I’ve never been a super environmentalist or anything like that. I know… I grew up in Oregon, I should be ashamed! I always thought that I’m only one person, how much of a difference can I make. The truth of the matter is that if I’m not going to change my behaviors, then who will? I’ve always said that a little bit can add up, yet I never really applied it to what I can do to help the environment. I was annoyed at people who post a Facebook status to try and invoke awareness or change for some sort of cause, and yet don’t put their money where their mouth is and actually donate to the cause. If everyone who shared a viral video about some sort of cause, donated $1 to that cause in addition to sharing it, then that money could pile into millions! Yet, I’m not “putting my money where my mouth is” when it comes to our environment.

Some great suggestions on what we can do to help can be found at the Utah Clean Air website. Some that really stuck out for me is that you could shovel instead of using a snow blower to get your sidewalks and driveways clear. Especially during inversion times, which is when there is snow around too, if everyone used a shovel instead of a snowblower that could (and I’m not just saying this cause I get jealous of all those who have it so easy with their fancy snow blowers.) I bet the air quality would improve drastically. One thing I CAN do though is not have my heater running all day every day. I’m cold. I could put on layers, but I don’t. So, now I will. Plus it will probably save us money anyway!

So do your part, even if you don’t live in Utah. One person turns into many people, and many people can make a change.

Disclosure: I am being compensated for this post, but was not told what to say or if I even had to mention Kennecott, they just want to get the word out about how we can fix our air. I agree.

My main issue was that I have a ton of desk space, and just about ZERO actual storage locations. So everything just ends up everywhere. Devices, CD’s, papers, bills, etc. All just sitting around with no where to go. Luckily there are some tools to the rescue! I have… Read the rest
Author information

Sarah Kimmel

Sarah Kimmel, the Organized Mom

So very often my desk has looked like this. and this

My main issue was that I have a ton of desk space, and just about ZERO actual storage locations. So everything just ends up everywhere. Devices, CD’s, papers, bills, etc. All just sitting around with no where to go. Luckily there are some tools to the rescue! I have always said, that a good organization system will allow you to have a home for every item you own. When things don’t have a “home” they become clutter, because they live anywhere, and it’s hard for you to put it away. There is no “away”, it just stays on the counter or on your desk, tormenting you.

So I got a fantastic package of office organization products from Office Depot and See Jane Work.

Now would you like to see these super cute desk organization tools in action? I thought you’d never ask…

The first thing I did was take the inboxand put it between the two monitors for my work computer. This becomes my processing center. Any paperwork that comes into the house, permission slips, tax documents, bills, etc etc etc goes right into that inbox. A little further down the desk behind the phone is my “outbox“, which is just a letter sorter. Since most things that need to go back out are mail related. Let’s head ’round the corner and see the rest of the desk…

Over here I’ve got the pen/pencil holder, and a magazine file/folder. I used to have pens kinda all over the desk. This has also given me a great spot for files I need frequent access to. My husband was thrilled with the new clean office I’m keeping, since it used to be his office (hence all the album art on the walls). I took it over when I started working from the house again. Poor guy had to move his bass guitar and amp downstairs.

And so… finished product?

Much better!
