Keeping up with daily household chores can take a lot of time and energy. Especially if it is put off for long periods of time. The best way to stay on top of them is to do small tasks every day.
This will maintain some order in your home. Here are five chores that you should be doing every day to maintain the balance in your home and the workload more bearable:
Keep Your Dishes Clean
There is nothing worse than waking up in the morning with a sink full of dishes or going into the kitchen for a drink but have no more clean glasses in the cupboard. Making sure that the dishwasher is loaded and ran each day will help alleviate this problem.
Throughout the day as dishes get dirty, encourage the members of your house to place them in the dishwasher. This will allow the dishwasher to be full and ready to be ran before you head off to bed at night. In the morning the dishes will be clean and dry and can be easily put away before heading off on your day.
Sweep the Floors
Whether you have hardwood floors, tiles or linoleum, make an effort to sweep them every day. You don’t have to do your entire house every single day, but sweeping the main living areas is a good idea.
This is especially true if you have pets! Collect the dirt and debris into a pile and either push it into a dustpan or simply vacuum it up. Maintaining a clean floor will keep order to your home and also make it inviting to any guests that might stop by.
Do a Load of Laundry
Putting off your laundry until you have piles and piles of it can make the task seem daunting. If you can, try tossing one large load of laundry in each day.
Make an effort to wash, dry, fold and put away that one load. It might sound like a lot, but by keeping up with this chore you will always have your favorite clothing ready to wear. Also, your laundry won’t be overflowing by the time the weekend rolls around.
Spray the Shower Down
One trick to help cut down the time between shower cleaning is to spray your shower with a good cleaner. This can be done daily after you are done taking a shower.
Depending on the brand, you can simply spray the wet walls and forget it. Or just run your running shower head over the applied product quickly to rinse it. Believe it or not, this trick really does help keep your shower cleaner longer and is so simple to do.
Wipe Down Appliances
After you are done preparing dinner and the entire family has moved on to the next thing in their nightly routine, take a moment to wipe down any appliances that your family used throughout the day. Wipe down stovetops, the inside of your microwave, and any messes that might have been made inside the oven.
Give the inside of your fridge a quick wipe down. Doing all of these things will keep your kitchen looking spic and span and also make all of your appliances ready to use again the following day.
