Easy Ways to Celebrate National Best Friends Day

No better way to start the summer than by celebrating. June 8th is the big day and I have some easy ways for you to celebrate National Best Friends Day.

Ideas for Celebrating National Best Friends Day

Send them a message

Texting. It’s so easy some of us do it almost all day long. You can text your best friend next door or your best friend across the country.

If you like something a little more old fashioned why not write your bestie a letter. Put a stamp on it and send it through the mail. Or you can hand deliver it.

More of an email kind of gal. That’s a perfectly acceptable way to let your best friend know you are thinking of her/him.

If video messaging is your thing send something on Marco Polo or another video messaging app.

Give Them a Call

It’s a lost art these days, talking on the phone. Yet, it might be the perfect way to let your bestie know you are thinking of them. Plus it works great for friends near and far.

Like to see your friend face to face. Then FaceTiming might be your go to for getting in touch on National Best Friends Day.

Have a group of best friends? Trying doing a Zoom mtg together. That way you can all see each others faces and chat no matter where you live.

Binge Watch Something Together

One of the best people to binge watch something with is your best friend. Find a new show to start watching or rewatch an old favorite.

The best thing about binge watching is you don’t have to get dressed up and it can last as long or short as you like.

Dinner and a movie (at home or out on the town) together would be a great way to spend time on June 8th.

Go on an Outing

Shopping, shopping and more shopping. Look for shoes, clothes, books or furniture. Make some purchases or stick with window shopping. With your best friend its sure to be a good time.

Into sports? Take it to the court for some pickleball (I hear it’s the nation’s fastest growing sport). Find the closest alley and do some bowling.

If you have a group of besties then get yourselves a game of volleyball going. Or break out your croquet set.

Head to the great outdoors! Take a hike on a new or favorite trail. Break out the canoe or paddle boards. Bring along some paints and canvas and find your inner Bob Ross.

If you and your bestie are more indoors people why not check out a new play or attend a concert together.

Give Them a Thoughtful Gift

I’m loving this adorable Winnie the Pooh pillow with a sweet friendship quote on it. It’s pretty nostalgic and the meaningful thought on it is perfect for celebrating friends.

Flowers are always a fun gift to let someone know you are thinking of them. Fresh cut or a flower to be planted are both winners!

BFF necklaces. You have to do it. It’s a must for besties especially if you’ve been besties since you were little or your bestie is under the age of 14.

If you live close to your best friend then consider baking them a treat to celebrate the day. Cookies or a loaf of bread will go a long way in making someone feel special and thought of.

Not into baking? No problem! Buy them a sweet treat or have one delivered by using a cookie delivery service like Crumbl cookie.

Make a Movie Together

If movie making is your thing then documenting why your bestie is your bestie is a great idea. Tell all things they do for you that you appreciate. Don’t forget all the quirky things that are uniquely them.

Why not take your movie making on the road. Together go and visit places that bring back memories to the two of you and then share those stories on video.

Set up a camera and then sit back and reminisce together. Share the funny unforgettable stories and the moments that made you cry.

Get Out of Town

We can all use a vacation these days. Use National Best Friends Day as your excuse to get our of town.

If you don’t live in the same area then make a plan to meet somewhere in the middle. Jump in a car and head off on a road trip. Make new memories and have an adventure to celebrate your friendship.

Try Something New

Speaking of making new memories how about starting by trying a new place to eat. Check out somewhere new in town or just a restraunt the 2 of you haven’t been to yet.

Not hungry for dinner? Dessert is always a good idea. Head on over to a new to you place for dessert OR go to a favorite spot and try something new on their menu.

Want to be active while trying something new? How about doing some goat yoga or go axe throwing. Your best friend is the perfect person to try something new with.

Try a new class together. A cooking class is perfect for people who like to cook but it’s also great for people who like to eat!

Feel like staying in? Break out that new board game you’ve been wanting to play or a puzzle that you can do while you chat, laugh and do some catching up.

Want a little more action? Head to climbing gym and learn to climb or if you are already a proficient climber then try doing a new route together at the gym or outside.

Take advantage of June 8th and give some of your time to your best friend. It can be as easy and simple as a text or phone call. Or it can be thoughtful, like a letter or gift. Your bestie will thank you for it.
