These fun toilet paper roll binoculars are an easy craft that the kids will love making and playing with.
Because these cardboard tube binoculars are green, they will work perfectly for a St. Patrick’s Day craft (leprechaun binoculars) or Mardi Gras craft.
You can even make them for just a fun treasure hunt activity. The kids can use their binoculars to go hunting for treasure as they play.

How to make toilet paper roll binoculars
- 2 empty Toilet Paper Rolls
- Construction Paper
- Pipe Cleaners
- Paint Pens or Markers
- Hole Punch (Optional)
- Yarn (you can use string or ribbon if you don’t have any yarn)
- Glue Stick
- Hot Glue
Instructions:

Take the construction paper and cut it to size so that it completely covers the TP rolls.
To create the pipe cleaner ends, put two or three pipe cleaners together and
Wrap the pipe cleaners around the ends of the toilet paper roll and then cut off any excess. Once you have the right size, glue the pipe cleaners to the ends of the toilet paper roll.

Now, you can decorate the rolls as desired with paint pens, markers, or cut-outs made from construction paper.
With this design we wanted to make something simple, so we went with dots. I’m actually glad we did the dots because now we can use them for a fun St. Patrick’s Day craft or Mardi Gras craft.
We then used the hot glue to attach the 2 rolls together to create the binoculars.

Create A Lanyard for the Toilet Paper Roll Binoculars
We also attached some string to them so that they could wear the binoculars as they play. You can use string, yarn, or even ribbon to do this. Just cut it to your desired length. You will want it long enough so that it hangs down comfortably.
Once you have your string measured, use the hole punch to make a hole in the top of each roll. Then, you can feed the string through and tie the ends together.
If you don’t have a hole punch, you can glue the string to the outside of the toilet paper rolls with the hot glue gun.
Here they are as St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Binoculars!
