Here are some simple tips and tricks to keep your bathroom clean each and every day.

Maintain Surfaces

Bathroom counters tend to be one of the most used areas in any home. Residue can be left behind from products that everybody used daily. The best way to prevent this is to keep the bathroom counter tidy. Cut down on clutter by putting away products that are not being used.

Additionally, wipe down the counter top with a bleach wipe or all purpose cleaner and a microfiber towel at least one time per day. Also, use a good glass cleaning agent and simply wipe down shower doors and mirrors, too. One or two passes over each surface should be more than enough to maintain cleanliness.

Magic Wand

The most dreaded part of cleaning any bathroom is almost always the toilet. Let’s face it, this is where most of the gross stuff happens; therefore you need to upkeep it.

The best way to prolong the time between deep scrubbing of your toilet is by keeping a toilet wand and holder nearby. One time per day, sprinkle a toilet cleaning product such as Ajax or Lysol directly into the bowl and scrub it with the wand. Flush the toilet as normal and go on with the remainder of your day.

By doing this one time per day, any residue that accumulates from usage will be dramatically cut down. Also, your bathroom will smell fresh and inviting.

Forgotten Floors

Keep a small broom or vacuum nearby to cleanup messes on bathroom floors once a day. These floors accumulate hair, dust and residue from cleansing products that should be removed on a daily basis. Be sure to run the vacuum behind and around the base of the toilet as well.

Another area that most people tend to forget when cleaning the bathroom is the walls surrounding the toilet. Take a bleach wipe to the wall by the toilet and do a quick pass to remove anything that might be causing smelly odors.

Kick the Dust Up

There are many other surfaces in the bathroom that have dust and/or dirt buildup. Some of these surfaces include: tops of toilets, mirrors and cabinets. In a storage space within the bathroom, keep a Swiffer duster or a more traditional version if that’s preferred and also do a pass over these items.

Since many people forget to do this even with a deep cleaning, the amount of dust and debris that can accumulate can be staggering. But, by removing the build up daily you simply will not encounter this problem.

Additional Ideas

Some other tasks you can do daily to maintain a clean bathroom: light a candle to eliminate odors, spray any fabric surfaces with Febreeze, wipe down soap dispensers and shower heads and disinfect commonly touched surfaces (toilet handle, faucet, etc)
