They are perfect for serving with a fun game of Easter Bingo when it comes to class parties!

For this recipe, the little mini egg candies you can get around Easter were used, but you can use anything you’d like depending on the holiday or occasion you are making them for.

If you don’t have the mini eggs on hand: sometimes we have put a small number of chocolate chips in the center or we have even made our spider donuts and set them on top so it’s kind of like the spiders are sitting in their nest.

Peanut Butter Cornflake Nest Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 6-8 cups cornflakes
  • 6oz chocolate (we used Hershey’s kisses)
  • 64 Mini eggs (or small candy of your choice)

Instructions:

-In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the peanut butter and chocolate and stir until it is well mixed. Add the powdered sugar to the chocolate and peanut butter mixture.

-In a separate mixing bowl, pour 4 cups of the cornflakes and stir in the peanut butter & chocolate mixture and mix until the cornflakes are evenly coated.

-Add the remaining cereal 1 cup at a time until you reach your desired consistency. (For this batch, 7 cups were used but some require more, some require less).

-Scoop the cornflake mixture into lined muffin tins and shape into a nest using your fingers (careful! It may be hot!) or the back of a spoon.

-Place 4 mini eggs into each nest.

-Refrigerate the peanut butter nests for at least 30 minutes before serving or digging in so that the chocolate has time to set properly.

*KEEP REFRIGERATED OR ELSE NESTS START TO GET SOFT*

If we are celebrated, sometimes we use these as a fun breakfast treat that everyone can enjoy. They are quick and easy to whip up so they are great for those hectic mornings.
