I’ve mentioned before that I’ve always been a terribly picky eater. (Check out that post to help the picky eater in your family!) Since I am picky it’s always hard for me to try new things. This also makes it especially hard for me to experiment in the kitchen. If I have a recipe that I know I like I will follow i exactly! The only thing I really allow myself to play around with is the amount of onions in a recipe and the amount of cheese (always go less on the onions, more on the cheese). This really can annoy my husband because he loves trying new things. When we go to a restaurant he always gets mad that I order the same things at each restaurant. Like at my favorite restaurant Old Spaghetti Factory I always get the Spaghetti with Rich Meat Sauce. It’s the whole reason I like to go there, cause I love their spaghetti so much.
Last night we went to a restaurant and I felt inspired to try something different. I had to play around with Trevor cause I knew it would shock him. I asked him what he thought I was going to get and he rolled his eyes and said “a hamburger” I had so much fun telling him NO! I actually ordered a BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich. There was a place in California I used to work at that made a really yummy Brisket sandwich so I wanted to see if it would be the same. It was close.
Why am I telling you this? To give you a tip on how to feed the picky eater in your life. Make it really visually appealing. That is almost always the way I will try something. If it looks just oh so yummy! I normally don’t like fish, but I was watching Everyday Italian the other day and she made this Salmon thing that looked seriously so good! It made me want to try it! So this week I’m going to make it and tell you how it goes… and since I don’t think I can steal a recipe from Food Network I will just post a link to the recipe so you can make it for yourself too!
