Weight watchers is a popular program because no food is “off limits”. It allows you to enjoy all your favorite foods in moderation while still being able to lose weight. Instead of counting calories, with weight watchers you count “SmartPoints”.

Every person is allotted a certain number of Smart Points for the day. This number differs from person to person depending on age, weight, sex and which WeightWatcher’s plan you’re participating in.

What Are The Weightwatchers’ Plans?

WeightWatchers offers three different plans: Green, Blue, and Purple.

The Green Plan offers the largest “SmartPoint Budget”, plus all fruits and non-starchy vegetables are zero points.

The Blue Plan has a moderate SmartPoint Budget but all fruits, non-starchy vegetables, and lean proteins are zero points.

The Purple Plan has the smallest SmartPoint Budget, but all fruits, non-starchy veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains are zero points.

How Do You Determine The SmartPoint Value of Food?

The WeightWatcher’s website says, “every food and drink has a SmartPoints value that is determined by calories, protein and sugar. Calories establish the baseline. Protein lowers the SmartPoints. Sugar and saturated fat increase the SmartPoints.”

What makes the best WeightWatchers Snacks?

Foods high in protein and low in fat and sugar will allow you to eat the most food, while still staying in your SmartPoint Budget.

This is important because ensuring that you’re eating enough food to fill you up all day will help make sure you’re never going hungry. No one likes to be hungry, and letting yourself get hungry will make it hard to stick with your weightloss plan.

So I’ve put together a list of WeightWatcher Snacks to help keep you full and energized, all while staying within your SmartPoint Budget.

I have gathered together all different kinds of snacks to help satisfy any craving during your weight loss journey. The snack categories are: savory, sweet, salty, filling, and drinkable.

Savory Snacks

Black Bean and Corn Weight Watchers Salsa

This is a favorite salsa recipe of mine, and is perfect to make for parties and BBQs.

You can make this salsa ahead of time and store it in an airtight container in the fridge. Then use it on top of chips or even burrito bowls with chicken and rice.

Ingredients:

  • 1 15 oz can of corn
  • 1 15 oz can of black beans
  • 3-4 roman tomatoes, diced
  • 1 jalapeno (optional)
  • ½ Cup red onion, diced.
  • ½ Cup cilantro, diced.
  • Juice of one lime
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning

Directions:

Wash and dry tomatoes, jalapeno, lime, cilantro, and onion.

Then wash and drain black beans. Drain water from the can of corn.

Then dump the drained black beans and corn into a medium sized serving bowl.

Dice tomatoes, cilantro, jalapeno, and onion. Put them into the bowl with corn and black beans.

Sprinkle the teaspoon of Italian Seasoning over the salsa.

Cut lime into fourths and squeeze lime juice over the salsa. Toss to combine.

Don’t blow your points by eating this salsa with regular chips! Instead try Nabisco’s Good Thin Sea Salt Corn Crackers. These are just 3 SmartPoints for about 38 pieces. Good Thins are widely available at most major stores and online on Amazon.

Sweet Snacks

If you ever find yourself craving something sweet, but you don’t want to blow all your points, then I have the perfect solution for you.

Strawberries and Whip Cream

It always surprises me how sweet and delicious this simple snack is.

How do you make it?

Wash and dry about five strawberries. Cut into slices and put into a small bowl.

Top with whip cream and enjoy!

If you really need something sweeter, then drizzle a small amount of sugar free Hershey’s  chocolate syrup over the top.

Fiber One Chocolate Fudge Brownies

If the strawberries and whip cream just aren’t going to cure your cravings, then try the Fiber One Chocolate Fudge Brownies. Depending on the plan you’re following, these are about 2 SmartPoints per brownie.

Warm them up slightly in the microwave for an even more indulgent treat.

Salty Snacks

Maybe you’re the type of person that craves something salty to snack on, instead of something sweet?

Popcorn

As long as it’s light and airy, popcorn could be the perfect weight watchers snack for you.

WeightWatchers has even created their own popcorn brand! It is available in 3 flavors – Sea salt, Butter, and White Chedder. They are available to buy from the WW shop or from Amazon. This popcorn is just 2 SmartPoints per bag!

Rold Gold Tiny Twists Pretzels

These tasty salted Rold Gold Tiny Twists Pretzels are 3 SmartPoint per 1oz pack. They are the perfect snack when you’re craving something crunchy and salty.

Filling Protein Snacks

Do you find yourself really hungry in between lunch and dinner? Reach for something that will fill you up without using up all your smart points.

Try some beef jerky

Jack Link’s Beef Jerky is sold in small 0.625 oz packs that are about 1 SmartPoint per pack. They are available in two flavors: Original and Teriyaki. These make great snacks that are high in protein and easy to eat on the go. Find them online on Amazon.

Hard Boiled Eggs

Hard boiled eggs have about 6 grams of protein! If you’re bored with just salt and pepper, then try eating your hard boiled egg with a splash of hot sauce or even a tablespoon of guacamole.

Many people also snack on hard boiled eggs and a slice of deli meat for a snack that will keep them full all afternoon.

Drinkable Snacks

When you’re in a hurry and need to get something to eat that is fast and healthy, try a Premier Protein shake. They are about 2 SmartPoints per bottle. You can find 4 different flavors: chocolate (my favorite), Caramel, Strawberries & Cream, and Cookies & Cream.

These are widely available at most grocery stores and online at Amazon.

I hope this list of WeightWatcher snack ideas helps you realize that you can still indulge in your snack cravings while maintaining your point allowance.

By staying full and satisfied with what you’re eating, you’ll be able to keep losing weight until you’re able to reach your weight loss goals.
