  • Easy to scale to make even more servings
  • Simple to customize with different meats or other ingredients
  • Loved by the whole family – no dinnertime grumbles

Ingredients Needed

Here are the simple ingredients you need to make your pasta dish.

  • Spaghetti or linguini
  • Ground beef, ground turkey or ground chicken. You can even use shredded chicken breast or leftover turkey.
  • Sweet Italian sausage
  • Spaghetti sauce- if you have a homemade spaghetti sauce you enjoy, you can use that or use a premade tomato sauce, marinara sauce, or premade meat sauce if preferred
  • Unsalted butter
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic
  • Heavy whipping cream- this really amps up the cream sauce. If needed, you can swap this out for half and half, but milk will not work in this recipe.
  • Parmesan cheese- shredded parmesan cheese adds even more creaminess factor to the sauce. You can use fresh grated parmesan cheese for even more yummy flavor.
  • Salt
  • Shredded mozzarella- feel free to use more cheese if you love lots of cheese as it gets sprinkled over the top before baking. You can swap this out for cheddar cheese for a slightly different cheesy flavor if you like.
ingredients for spaghetti Alfredo pasta

Alfredo sauce is super easy to make with common ingredients, so we’re going to show you how right now! You could also simply buy pre made Alfredo sauce to use in this easy spaghetti casserole to save time effort.

How to Make Spaghetti Alfredo

Fill a large pot with water and add about 3 tablespoons of salt. Bring water to a boil.

Preheat oven to 425F.

Once you have boiling water, add pasta and cook for 10 minutes, or whatever the package instructions say.

In a pan, brown the ground meat of choice.

Once browned, drain off grease and add in pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.

Pour spaghetti sauce in. Bring mixture to a boil then reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.

While the meat simmers, lets work on the alfredo.

In a separate pan, add the butter and melt it over medium-high heat.

Add in minced garlic and stir and let cook for a minute.

Add in parmesan cheese and heavy cream. Whisk to combine.

Add salt and pepper and whisk until it forms a thick sauce. It should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.

Coat the bottom of an 11×13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.

Drain pasta if they’re finished cooking according to the package directions. Once strained, add to the prepared baking dish, then add the Alfredo sauce.

Remember, if you’re looking to make this quicker and easier, you can use pre-made Alfredo sauce. Be sure to warm it up before you add it to the pasta however, this will help it bake better.

Add the meat sauce.

Bake for 5-10 minutes or until the cheese has melted and starts to bubble. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Serve and enjoy. Serve with your favorite garlic bread for a nice complete comfort food meal.

Storage

For best results, this is one of those kinds of meals like many other pasta recipes, that is best served when you first make it. However, if you wish to keep any leftovers of this simple meal, I suggest storing the sauce mixture with your pasta of choice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

To reheat your leftovers later, you can reheat in baking dish covered with aluminum foil until heated through.

Can I freeze this pasta dish?

While I don’t think I would personally do it because freezing pasta can cause the texture to change and freezing alfredo sauce may separate as it thaws, I suppose if that’s what you would want to do, you can.

Make sure to store it in a freezer safe bag or a freezer safe container before freezing it for up to 3 months.

You can also leave in a freezer safe baking dish, cover with plastic wrap and foil and store in the freezer for up to 3 months.

How Can I Spice This Up?

While we like this combination pasta just how we made it, you can certainly spice things up if that’s what you’re into. If you like heat, be sure to use Hot Italian sausage in your meat sauce. You can also add some red pepper flakes to your sauce for a nice kick.

What Other Meat Can I Add?

If you like a good classic dish like shrimp alfredo, chicken alfredo, or spaghetti with sausage links or meatballs, feel free to add any of those meat combinations to your pasta alfredo!

Juicy shrimp would be lovely with some bite-sized pieces of broccoli, or tender slices of chicken breasts with some fresh parsley as a garnish, would also be delicious in this dish.

There’s so many options and things you can add to this recipe. It really is the perfect dish to make for dinner.

Can I feed a crowd with this TikTok Spaghetti recipe?

Certainly. As written, this recipe makes 8-10 servings. That’s already quite a few servings for some people. But, if you’re serving this at a party or gathering, it’s an easy recipe to scale to feed even more people.

Simply make sure you have enough spaghetti noodles and the rest of the ingredients. You may need to use a second large skillet to make the sauce if you don’t have one large enough, but it’s a workable recipe to use for feeding a lot of people.

When you go to add the pasta and sauce to the casserole dish, depending on how much you make, you may need to use a second baking dish for the rest of the baked spaghetti.

Can I make this TikTok Pasta recipe ahead of time?

Sure thing. To prep this ahead of time, I would recommend browning the sausage and adding the tomato sauce in and letting it simmer according to directions.

You can also make your pasta ahead of time and store it in a container or bag until ready to combine with everything and bake.

I would hold off on making the Alfredo sauce or using the premade pasta sauce because it may separate as it cools before you bake everything together.

When ready to finish the dish up, you can make your sauce or dump the premade stuff in, add your pasta and meat sauce with the cheeses and bake away.

Is TikTok Spaghetti Alfredo healthy?

In general, alfredo sauce is not a healthy sauce. It uses a lot of butter and creamy ingredients which run up the calorie count.

But there are ways that you can make a healthier version of this. Instead of traditional spaghetti pasta, try a vegetable pasta or spaghetti squash. In place of the alfredo, try a plant based alfredo sauce which may be lower in calories.

When choosing what protein to use, I suggest opting for lean meats, like lean ground turkey or ground chicken over ground beef.

Try to use a red sauce with less additives, preservatives and unnecessary ingredients. Rao pasta sauce seems to be a good, healthier option than many other ones that you would see on the grocery store shelves.

What to serve with this pasta dish?

Try serving your creamy, cheesy pasta with some breadsticks or dinner rolls. Serve alongside a giant green salad or with your other favorite vegetable side dishes.

Tips and Variations

Here are a mix of tips to help make this easy recipe even easier. You’ll also see a few other things to try with this easy dinner idea.

  • Instead of spaghetti, you can use linguini, fresh pasta, or even fettuccine noodles like you use for fettuccini alfredo. We ended up using linguini when shooting the photos for this recipe.
  • Cook your pasta however you like it, al dente, or more soft and floppy like.
  • In place of your sweet Italian sausage, you could use mild or hot sausage if you like.
  • If you don’t want to use butter you can use nonstick cooking spray.
  • If you find that your sauce is a little too thick, add just a few tablespoons of the pasta cooking water to help thin out the sauce a bit.
  • Use tongs to help transfer your pasta with meat and sauce to a serving dish or directly on to your guests plates.
  • You can add some other vegetables. Try fresh spinach, mushrooms, and more bell pepper or onion.
  • If you like even more creaminess, try a dab of heavy cream or a dollop of cream cheese in your sauce mixture.
  • This is a very tasty, rich sauce, so be careful when serving your delicious red creamy sauce mixture.
