My Favorite Movie Time Snack

Sharing is caring!

Back when I was in college I worked at a pizza/pasta restaurant at the to go counter.  We had a super large jar of gourmet lollipops.  One night while I was on my way to the movies (heck if I can remember who I was going with, I think it was a date??) I purchased a lollipop on my way out the door.  I went to the movie and started to enjoy my candy, when before I knew it, the movie was practically over and I was still enjoying it!  I had hit upon the perfect movie snack!  It doesn’t have a ton of calories, and it will last you through most of the movie.

If you are like me, mindless eating can really get in the way of your weight loss goals.  Whenever I’m working on the computer (which is A LOT) I CRAVE anything!  I just need to start eating!  I really like to snack on chips/cinnamon bears/swedish fish anything I can eat without thinking about it.  Switching to a sucker really helps my problem.  The only ones that will really do the job are the “gourmet suckers”.  If you try and use a like a Tootsie Pop you will end up like Mr. Owl and it will last about 3 licks!

Do you have a good mindless snack?

  • I learned a several years ago that my preferred snack at that time – tootsie rolls – was a stress reliever; it was the chewing! (and the sugar of course).

Now I eat a big bowl of air-popped popcorn with olive oil and salt (and sometimes pepper – yum) and I get my stress out with crunching. I usually eat this in the late afternoon with a piece of fruit or a fizzy water. Just a little bit of oil and salt make me think I’m having something fattening LOL.
